Indicators are a necessary ingredient for sustainable change. And the process of selecting community indicators -- who chooses, how they choose, what they choose -- is as important as the data you select.

Free Mapping Tools

Run, don't walk, to Maitri's Vatulblog for a review of available OpenSource and free visual mapping tools (and a series of comments that are also quite useful.) For those on a limited budget (or who want to support OpenSource applications), this is a must.
